chief of staff, Charles Odhiambo
Social media has been awash with the news of the Homabay Chief of Staff, Charles Odhiambo, being beaten senseless.
The brutal attack that took place on the night of Monday, March 3, 2025, in Nairobi has become the subject of widespread speculation. Yet, it remains conspicuously absent from police reports and mainstream media coverage. Sources suggest that county leadership deliberately suppressed the incident, fearing the fallout that could arise from public scrutiny and official investigations.

However, despite efforts to keep it under wraps, news of the attack has spread rapidly beyond county borders, fueling intense discussions.
The victim, who was rushed to a Nairobi Hospital, sustained severe injuries, including facial trauma, eye damage, and harm to his private parts, rendering him unconscious for nearly a week.
By March 6, 2025, top county officials reportedly recommended that he be flown to India for specialized treatment due to the severity of his condition. Meanwhile, security at the hospital was tightened, with strict measures in place to prevent any information leaks.
Sources claim that this was not only for his safety but also to ensure the disturbing details of the attack remained hidden from the public eye.

At the heart of the matter is the alleged perpetrator—a man described as possessive and ruthless, who had long harbored suspicions about the victim’s relationship with his wife. Despite the woman’s efforts to placate him, including securing him a government job, his jealousy remained unchecked.
Reports indicate that he had repeatedly threatened to eliminate the victim, accusing him of publicly humiliating him.
With pressure mounting on county officials and law enforcement to take action, many are now questioning the extent of cover-ups within the administration, the security of government officials, and whether justice will ultimately be served.
